Interview with the Author

What inspired you to write The Marquess Searches for Love?
I am passionate about women having a voice in the Regency era even if it is only fictional. Mary Wollstonecraft initiated the question of female equality, but it would take a century for her followers to rise up.
I also like my female characters to have their own mind, and that they strive to have their dreams come true, even if it is only fiction for this era.
How long did it take you to write your book?
I usually take two to three months to write a book,  then another month rewriting. I then proofread it before sending it to my editor.
How long have you been publishing your work?
It is now coming up to six years. My first book was published in 2011 - July 4th.
What does your writing environment look like?
I have my own study.  I used to have a very old-fashioned workplace with antique furniture, but now I have changed it to be ultra modern with white furniture and modern art on the walls. I also have pale green carpets and a matching coloured couch. I have two monitors on my desk and speakers for constant music, to which I gain more inspiration. My dog Lily, a golden retriever is usually sleeping at my feet, or asking for treats or telling me when she wants to go for a walk.
